Who?

Paul’s friends, Paul, Lydia, Lydia’s family

What?

Paul went to Philippi where he met Lydia and told her the good news about Jesus (Acts 16:9-15)

When & Where?

While Paul was traveling on his second missionary trip, about a.d. 49-52, in the Roman city of Philippi

Why?

To help children feel comfortable talking about Jesus with their friends and family members

Goals:

1. Identify that Paul told others the good news about Jesus

2. Practice telling the good news that Jesus loves everyone

3. Name someone to talk to about Jesus’ love

When has someone brought you a message of hope that made a huge impact on your life? Think of how the people of Philippi must have felt when Paul visited to tell them the good news!

After Pentecost, Jesus’ disciples traveled all over, preaching the good news that God was reconciling the world to Himself through Christ’s death and resurrection. Miracle followed miracle those were amazing days! Saul of Tarsus was born spiritually in those astonishing times, and he began to declare that God’s Son had paid the price for sin. A dream from God led him to go to Philippi. Paul didn’t know what to expect, but he knew it was right to act in obedience to what God told him to do.

• Who may God be nudging you to tell about Him?

• What can you do or say to follow God’s leading?

As you pray for the children in your class, ask God to lead you in class to show Jesus’ love

with your actions and your words. Each week in class, we don’t know what to expect, but we

do know that God has plans to use us in leading kids to Jesus.
